Provider Profile – Ryan Comstock

1. What is your role/position with NHCLV and which location do you work at? How long have you worked for the organization?

I am a nurse practitioner in the Easton Office, and I have worked here for nearly a year.

2. Why do you think an FQHC is important in caring for members of the Lehigh Valley community?

The services at an FQHC are crucial to help those who need health care and are uninsured or underinsured. Healthcare, especially primary care, is treating the whole patient. When patients are under financial strains it is so important to be able to provide quality care at the most affordable costs. We truly have to understand every aspect of a patient’s situation.

3. What’s the most important thing you have learned working for an FQHC?

The greatest thing I have learned working for an FQHC is being grateful for my own situation and the things that I have in my life.

4. What do you love most about your job?

Helping those that are in need of quality care. I also thoroughly love being there and helping those who suffer from drug addiction.

5. What one piece of advice do you have for patients when it comes to caring for their health?

Preventative medicine is important. Also learning to be an advocate for yourself. Ask questions and discuss concerns that you have.
