National Health Center Week 2021

Each year during National Health Center Week in August we celebrate the work of nonprofit organizations like ours across the country, and the team members that make it possible. The way we work together to care for the health of our community members, regardless of health insurance or ability to pay. This year’s theme is: Community Health Centers: The Chemistry for Strong Communities.

Each day of NHCW 2021 is dedicated to a particular focus area:

  • Sunday, 8/8: Public Health in Housing Day (being celebrated on Tuesday)
  • Monday, 8/9: Healthcare for the Homeless Day (Community Meet & Greet)
  • Tuesday, 8/10: Agricultural Worker Health Day
  • Wednesday, 8/11: Patient Appreciation Day
  • Thursday, 8/12: Stakeholder Appreciation Day
  • Friday, 8/13: Health Center Staff Appreciation Day
  • Saturday, 8/14: Children’s Health Day
(NOTE: per health center policy, face masks are required for all event attendees, regardless of vaccination status. FYI)

Public Health in Housing Day

Done in conjunction with our partners at the Allentown Housing Authority, AHA residents will participate in a game of bingo in the community room at their Allen Street property and enjoy snacks as well as educational health information from United HealthCare, NHCLV, and our Neighbor-2-Neighbor Time Banking Program.

Community Meet & Greet

If you or someone you know is dealing with housing insecurity, or if you are a community nonprofit partner who works with clients who are experiencing homelessness, please tell them about our Monday, August 9 event for National Health Centers Week next week. This event takes place at all four NHCLV locations, is free and is open to the public.

Northside Bethlehem Grand Opening & Open House

On Wed. 8/11 – Patient Appreciation Day – NHCLV will finally get to hold a Grand Opening event with an Open House for our new Northside Bethlehem community health center that initially opened last year during the pandemic. We want YOU to join us for this fun, free, community event!

From 4 – 7 pm, we will invite guests inside for a tour of the facility at 635 E. Broad Street to learn about our primary healthcare services. There will also be free food and drinks, entertainment, activities for kids, raffles, and booths from our nonprofit community partners who provide important services that can support you and your family. Please save the date and plan to join us!
